Athabasca Landing: An Illustrated History
Published by the Athabasca Historical Society in 1986, Athabasca Landing: An Illustrated History was a 75th anniversary project researched and written by members of the historical society. It was revised in 2018, including several corrections, new maps and image scans.

What brought homesteaders and developers to Athabasca? Why did members of the Board of Trade feel justified in describing Athabasca Landing as "The Last Great West" and "Gateway to the North?"

Man Proposes, God Disposes
Pierre Maturié's book Man Proposes, God Disposes takes us back to the small Alberta town of Athabasca in the years immediately prior to the First World War. Maturié arrived from France in December 1910 and his memoir gives insight into the Francophone community of the time.
