About Us
Athabasca Heritage Society (AHS) is an organization of people from the town and county who believe in recovering and celebrating the rich heritage of the Athabasca region; its natural history, growth and settlement, and our stories which are interpreted through cultural and educational interactions.

Athabasca Heritage Society's objectives are
- To benefit the community by restoring, preserving, and maintaining heritage sites in the Town of Athabasca
- To educate the public about the history of the Town of Athabasca by
- conducting public and school tours,
- researching and interpreting the history of Athabasca,
- producing and maintaining outdoor heritage signs and public displays.
- To undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the above charitable purposes.
- To promote public awareness of the cultural and historical heritage of the Athabasca region.
- To promote awareness of the history of Athabasca Landing and its importance as a transportation centre.
- To further understanding of the cultural history of the aboriginal peoples, settlers, and families who founded or settled in the Athabasca region.
- To work towards making public the rich history of the region through visual, participatory, or other methods of promoting awareness and understanding.
- To support the formation of a financial foundation with the long-term goal of raising funds to promote and support community heritage projects in the Athabasca region.
