Landscaping the CNR Train Station Yard
Landscaping the north side of the train station was completed in 2023 and the on-going project of maintaining the property continues. For the raised beds, local perennials were donated and planted in 2022, and Birch Meadows Greenhouse has donated some of their surplus stock for two years. Volunteers plant and maintain the beds including a bed of potatoes that were donated to the Alice B. Donahue Library and Archives produce table last fall.
Society members and friends have said how important it is for them to see the train station yard grow as we create new community space. Imagining and realizing community gatherings such as theatre or live music on the train station deck is something we look forward to with pleasure. We hope to see continued flea markets, art shows, and other occasions at the train station.
