Historical Riverfront Walk in Town of Athabasca

Historic Places Canada

Athabasca Heritage Society (AHS) is a volunteer organization whose roots are grounded in activism. The Society formed in 1998 to initiate revitalization of the Town of Athabasca riverfront through the purchase of a plot of land to protect it from commercial development. For over ten years, AHS has also managed the restoration of Athabasca's CNoR train station, creating a community space for recreational, educational and cultural purposes.
Athabasca Archives respectfully and with gratitude acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of the Indigenous peoples; Inuit, First Nations and Métis of Canada.  We honour the ancestry, heritage, teachings and gifts of the Indigenous peoples.
